Our Journey… So far…
The European Society of TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS) is a non-profit organisation of specialists who focus on the diagnosis and surgical management of temporomandibular joint disorders. Its members have contributed significantly to the field through unique, imaginative or pioneering clinical and research endeavours.
ESTMJS is committed to the care of people living with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Through its annual meeting, its guidelines and its grants, the society works to advance the science and practice of rehabilitation for these patients and to stimulate more exact knowledge among both healthcare specialists and the public.
Membership is a privilege, awarded by nomination and on merit. Candidates are proposed by two Active Members with the Board’s support and must demonstrate proven surgical experience in TMJ surgery (evidenced by a comprehensive logbook) together with a record of academic contribution.
Our Objective
To advance the science and practice of rehabilitation for individuals with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and to stimulate a more exact knowledge among both healthcare specialists and the public.
Our Mission
ESTMJS is committed to the care of persons with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. The goal of the society is to extend and improve our understanding of the pathophysiology and clinical management of these conditions, and to identify the most effective solutions for patients. ESTMJS seeks, by every appropriate means, to improve the health-care services provided to people suffering from TMJ disorders and, with them, their quality of life.
