Membership of the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons is by invitation.

The Society brings together clinicians with recognised expertise and a sustained professional commitment to temporomandibular joint surgery. Membership is intended to support high clinical and scientific standards, encourage professional collaboration and advance knowledge within the speciality.

A prospective member must be nominated by an active member of the Society and receive a second, independent letter of nomination from another active member. The nomination process is the formal route into membership. Individuals cannot apply independently without the support of two active members.

  • training and experience relevant to temporomandibular joint surgery;
  • a substantial record of clinical practice in the field;
  • commitment to high standards of patient care;
  • scientific, academic or educational contribution;
  • professional standing and recognition within the speciality; and
  • willingness to support the aims and activities of the Society.
  1. a letter of nomination from the principal nominator;
  2. a supporting letter from a second active member;
  3. the candidate’s current curriculum vitae
  4. evidence demonstrating that the candidate meets the Society’s minimum eligibility criteria; and
  5. any additional information requested for the relevant membership class.
